Out of state sale to CA resident?

I was told to ask this over here, even though I think I now have the answer....

I am a Marine from Colorado, which is where most of my pistols are. If I want to sell a pistol to a CA resident, do I need to register it here first?

I am legally allowed to purchase weapons here because I am stationed at CP.
