Pawn License. Who has one and what does it take to get one?

As some have said, dealers buying used guns for inventory should consider a pawn license. What does that entail and how much will it cost? Seems to me to be overkill just to be buying used guns to resell.

Pawn / 2nd hand

City of Manteca required me to have one to buy used or do consignment. Had to go fill out another form w/ PD $ city. Gets renewed every year with my Business lisence.
One more fee I bleed to the city.

Do not confuse a secondhand dealer license with a pawn license. A pawn license requires a bond in the state of California unless you are grandfathered. If I remember right it was $100,000. I have a Second hand dealers license but I can't make loans against the property I can only buy and sell it.

OK. The pawn thing had me confused because of the bond. So, what a FFL wants is a secondhand dealer license which is much cheaper and easier to get. That's good.

The city issues them?
