    Lost Reciept

I am in the process of applying for a Cal CCW, and i ran into a problem, I purchased an XD40 about two years ago, and I cannot find the reciept that is needed to go foward with the CCW. Would the FFL in which I purchased the firearm be able to issue another reciept or proof of purchase?

    Thanks for the help!!

With all due respect, why don't you ask the FFL? How are we to know how your FFL keeps his records?

I have never heard that you need the original receipt for a CCW. The CA DOJ should have a record of it, if a DROS was submitted. The FFL might be able to go back through their records and make a duplicate, but they might also charge for it or just say no.

Are you sure you need a reciept? If you bought it in CA two years ago it should be registered to you. Where are you applying?

His issuing agency probably wants to see one for some stupid reason.

You have to ask your FFL. He will be the only one who knows whether he keeps his receipts or not. I would just e-mail one to you, but that is me.

I have a CCW and I know many who do. I have never heard of any jurisdiction asking for a receipt for a gun purchase. Where is this?
