FFL non roster / single shot pistol import

I have an FFL thats out of state, willing to ship to an FFL that will accept it, a non roster handgun, with a 1 shot magazine and the magazine button removed, thus making it a fixed magazine, single shot pistol, now i need a FFL that is willing to accept it and do the DROS for me.

I'm going to guess that this would be legal due to technicalities since this is the way that AR pistols are dros'd

    1) am i correct?

    2) any FFL's in LA or OC willing to accept it for me?

    Penal Code 12133
    (b) The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to a single-shot pistol with a barrel length of not less than six inches and that has an overall length of at least 10 1/2 inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled.
It must also be dimensionally compliant.

Magazine button removed or magazine lock? Is it an AR/AK type pistol?

You think you know, but you have no idea.

As lorax said, it still has to meet the length requirements. That is my only question. Otherwise a single shot pistol is a single shot pistol.

If it is a one shot magazine, does that mean the gun can have one in the chamber and a second shot in the mag? If so, that will need to be fixed. You really need a ZERO shot magazine or "sled". If it is truely a single shot and meets size requirements, try the FFL at Angeles or, if you're up to a drive, try Fort Courage in Simi Valley.

I was thinking this very thing, but didn't type it. It can't hold a round in the chamber and a round in the magazine.

I just had a good customer of mine come through and say the PPT he did at Angeles was a royal pain. Hopefully the guy is getting better at it.

Thanks for that info. I've never done any bussiness with the FFL at Angeles. I only spoke with him once, when he first opened. But, it was good to know that he was willing to transfer black rifles.
