The Cal-legal C&R long gun must also be at least 50 years old.
That is why I wrote CAL-LEGAL...

but some people would read CAL-legal C&R long gun to mean a non-AW C&R long gun, so it woudl be better to say any 50+year-old C&R long gun.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

C&R long guns that are less than 50 years old and C&R handguns are perfectly legal and perfectly C&R in California. The fact that they have to be transfered through a California licensed dealer doesn't make them "CAL-ILLEGAL" or "not C&R in California."
