    FFL mailing address?

I am in the process of moving to a brick and mortar location and my question is; what mailing address do you use on your FFL? Home, PO BOX, Store Front?

Are you concerned about this info being made public?

Personally I think you should use a PO Box for the mailing address. That is the public information, but FFLs can access both addresses as well as anyone who uses the ezcheck web page.

A real post office box is not very expensive and mail delivered to it should be more secure.

I am using a PO BOX right now because I am a "Kitchen Table" FFL and I didn't want my home address public. I think for the store front I will keep the PO BOX for now.

Something to note is that your home address isn't 100% private. Most people don't know how to look it up, but anyone that would verify your FFL credential using the first 3 and last 5 numbers has access to both addresses.

Just an FYI so you don't get surprised if someone does find it..it's just not too public knowledge. Kemasa mentioned it as well.

And BTW: I use a mailbox for my mailing address and my office (which is my premises) as the regular address. You may find some FFLs will ship firearms to your mailing address so I have a note on my FFL docs when I send them out explicitly stating "Please send firearms ONLY to premises address" .. you may or may not care if they send to your PO box, but I'm not sure on the legalities of it. From what I've read FFL are supposed to know to ship firearms only to the premises address.

Talk to the BATF and you will get different answers. In one place they say that firearms can only be shipped to the license premises address, then elsewhere they said that you can have an alternate location, such as a warehouse, which firearms can be shipped to.

Right, and it isn't hard to get a list of every FFL (except 03 and 06) in the entire country either. That list will have all the info that is printed on your FFL.

This is one of the reasons why you don't want to give a copy of your FFL to a non-FFL. With the full number, the database is available for download.

That database also has more information than what is on your FFL, such as the phone number that you have listed with the BATF. I have come across some FFLs which list a different phone number with the BATF than their normal business phone.

One FFL that I talked to claimed that the information was not available, even though I told her exactly how to access it. Facts were not going to change her mind.
