    PPT & 30-Day Rule

Sorry for the new guy question!

I know that you can only fill out an application to purchase one handgun every 30-days. Does this same rule apply for PPT's? I bought a glock 19 exactly one week ago (january 17th) and am interested in a couple of handguns that I'm seeing here on the forums.

I don't want to fully commit to them if I will not be able to actually take possession of them.

Can someone please inform me of the laws around PPT's through FFL's with handguns? i.e. does the one handgun every 30 day rule still apply? Is there still the 10 day waiting period?

    HELP!!!

PPTs do not apply to the one in thirty days rule. You may PPT handguns during your 30 days.

Thanks for the link, lots of good info here! Unless I'm failing to find it, I realize now that I can PPT handguns within 30 days of my purchase.

Will the FFL that we do the PPT at hold the handgun for 10 days to do the background check? Or during a PPT do we get to take the firearm home that day (considering that it's a ppt and not a purchase)?

I'm OK with them holding it for 10 days in order to do a background check, I'm wondering more because the FFL that we are considering meeting at is a bit of a distance from where I live and I'd like to avoid having to make 2 round-trips to this FFL if possible. If not, then oh well, the law is the law!

Thanks for all of the help!

You'll have to wait 10 days, before you can take possession of it.

That's what I thought, thanks for all of your help with my questions! I've been into guns for a little while now, but I am just now getting educated on the process of PPT's, so thank you!
