Where to get DOJ instructor training..

So where can I get the training required by the DOJ to be a certified instructor for the HSC and Safe Handling Demo? I am taking the plunge and going for my business licence tomorrow to start my home based FFL. Any suggestions for the Sacramento Area? Thanks.

A basic NRA pistol instructors certification qualifies for the DOJ HSC instructor requirements.
    Start here:
http://www.nrahq.org/education/training/instructor.asp and you can search for a training counselor in your area.

I wouldn't even bother getting the HSC instructor stuff done until after you have your FFL and CFD in hand. Otherwise it's just wasted money.

Yeah I plan on getting the FFL and CFD first.. I just applied for my business licence today. FFL packet is on the way. Going to apply for my sellers permit after that while I am working on the FFL.

Not sure if it applies in your city, but the when I applied for the state CFD they required my local business license to say "Valid for Retail Sale of Firearms" or something to that effect. If yours doesn't you may need to get it revised to say something about being valid for
          firearm sales.

          As far as training:

I used Bill Tidwell. Nice enough guy and will travel to your location if you can't come to where he's holding his next class.

          Good luck on the process!

            NRA certified Instructor

If you can't get ahold of anyone in Sacramento contact Ken Zachary down in Fresno. He was a great help to me when I got started. You can conact him through the NRA website under training counsolers.

El Cajon gun exchange apparently offers a course; I got myself added to the notice list buy have yet to hear anything two months later.
