    Cheapest DOJ approved locking device?

Calguns, I'm looking to find a new source for child safety locks that are DOJ approved.

Looking for the ABSOLUTE CHEAPEST, in quality and price. Right now I think the cheapest we've been able to find is about $5.50/wholesale. That's too expensive.

Looking for something we can eat the cost on.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Gunmaster offers everything you need for any caliber or shotgun to keep your firearms ready and trustworthy for the next outing.

the list price on it is $3.95. I'm sure you can probably find it for cheaper

Good find! Unfortunately they don't make that one anymore

I did get some good pricing from DAC for their cable locks though. Getting better price-wise.

CDNN but ask them to verify the instruction sheet has "CA DOJ" approved on the ones they are sending. I've gotten both DAC and NAD cable locks there for <$3.

ETA: They don't seem to have cable locks anymore but the do have Regal padlocks for $2.69

Depending on what it is for, some PD's keep piles of them to give away for free. Also depending on what it is for, you may find yourself up to your eyes with them if you ask your fellow CGers to mail you their unwanted cable locks.
          Up for rent...

This is in the FFL's forum for a reason

The project childsafe locks are not for dealers, they are for individuals, unfortunately.

Check my DROS/4473... that red one I brought in when I picked up my lower on Dec 28th came from Turners, I paid $6 for it.

                Yeah, those are DAC's:
Gunmaster offers everything you need for any caliber or shotgun to keep your firearms ready and trustworthy for the next outing.

I've got a line on them for pretty cheap, but I'm working on a new angle now...

                  Could do like 10% does.

Next time I buy a lower, I bring my old DAC in. You pay me $5 for it and toss it into a bucket.
You grab another lock out of the bucket and get your $5 back before I go out the door (no issues with anyone not bringing your lock back).

It complies with the law because federal law states that the gun must be "furnished with", and California simply requires that you sell one or there's proof of recent purchase... no requirement for them to be "new stock" if you sell it and add it to the receipt.

What's typical weekly turn on receivers from current gun owners who could be relied upon to bring in their old lock(s)? There's your starting inventory... what... 20-50 new locks? Everything after that is a trade-in, or outright purchase... so you add 20-50 locks to inventory once a year or so to replenish those sold outright.

Who told you that? I have been giving away the 800 Project Childsafe GL710NSSF and AB 107 Chinas I got from the Taft PD for two years now.

DAC is who I would recommend. Consider contacting DAC direct and asking what kind of bulk pricing you can get.

Or just start calling up some smaller PDs and ask if they have locks that are taking up space and offer to hand them out to people for free. I am not sure how many times I have said, "Here is your free gun lock courtesy of the Taft Police Department. If you aren't going to use it, bring it back to me another day, but today you have to take it home with you."
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

Do they really? I could use one for my OLL build. I planned on keeping a mag in it and locked in the cabinet, but have since decided that I want cable lock.

Did anyone make contact with Regal, DAC, NAD, or any other mfg at the SHOT Show?

I have been in telephone contact with Regal but the sales staff are at the SHOT Show; so, I'm waiting for a return call. Maybe we should do a group buy for a quantity of R15-SC locks. I'd be willing to organize it. Distibution at cost plus USPS flat rate shipping.

I am good, I have a ton of free locks. Seriously, start calling local PDs in your area and see if they have a bunch sitting around and offer to take them and give them out to customers for them. Tell them that if anyone comes in and asks for one, send them to you and you will give them one.
