Quick Bushmaster Question

I should know this but are all Bushmaster AR-15s marked XM-15 or Assault Rifle and, hence, prohibited by name? Are any Bushmaster rifle considered OL?

Actually, AFAIK, no bushmasters are marked AR-15, since that is trademarked by Colt. Bushmaster uses XM-15 as its model on most receivers, but not all. Bushmaster XM-15 is on the list. There are Off-list Bushmasters such as the Carbon-15 nad some of the .308 receivers as well, IIRC.

Customer wants one of these:

Co-Witness Carbine – Delivers versatility and quick sight changes in the field. The flat-top receiver has a Picatinny rail with a low-profile, flip-up, adjustable co-witness rear sight. There are three smaller rails beside and beneath the front fixed sight. The 16" heavy barrel is fluted to reduce overall weight and has a 1-in-9" twist rate. Six-position adjustable tactical stock with an ergonomic pistol grip. Ships in a lockable hard case with a 30-round magazine.

Obviously, no 30-round magazine and BB added.

my guess would be that that would be built on a standard XM-15 receiver and be on-list. I didn't see that model on Bushmaster's website to see if it was made on a Carbon-15 receiver.
