Mauser Model ID

Any easy way to ID Mauser rifles for the purposes of recording the model on 4473 and A/D book? Is Mauser/K98 good enough?

Obviously, I'm not a big C&R guy.

Yeah sometimes I have found it is impossible to tell what in the heck those guns are. I just put Mauser and whatever model number I think is appropriate. If it isn't on the gun, then it is kind of up to you. The key is they all should have some sort of serial numbering. Make sure that is accurate.

Serial nummber is very clear but no other markings.

Country of origin and caliber as well...........good enough.

yeah Paul, that is part of the problem. the serial number is all that is visible.
