Need Help Guys FFL Question

Hi,
Just wanted to clarify something with you guys, perhaps you can give me the lowdown.
If I purchase a handgun with my FFL for my own personal use what is the process?
Do I have to DROS the handgun?
I do believe that it is not necessary to use the 4473 since it is my boundbook and would be transferred into my posession however, I could be wrong.
Too side with chance of error can you other FFL's out there give me your points of wisdom on the subject?

You do need to DROS handguns, but not longguns. I do not think you need to use the 4473, but I am not sure.

Are you an LLC or a sole proprietorship. If the FFL is in your name you don't need to do a 4473 but you do need to do a dros. If it is in an LLC or other corp you will need to do a 4473. if the CFD number is in your name on the first screen it says waiting period exemption. Select CFD and enter your cfd number.

Actually, in the past when the waiting period was 15 days (10 days + 5 days for mailing), you did have to keep the gun from yourself for 15 days, not 10 :-).

Actually, you'll be paying 25.00 for the dros on yourself, that get's billed through your dros account automatically and if you decide you want to do another handgun, it'll be another 25.00. The only other benefit is no 30 day for the second handgun.

Isn't it $21 for all subsequent handguns?

It is $21 if you do multiple handguns at the same time/same day. It is really fun to get the discount when you are dealing with different types of handguns (C&R vs. modern) since the system is not designed for that, so you have to submit the DROS, then call and complaint in order to get the amount corrected.
