First time FFL - usual turnaround time?

Hi everyone,

I found this forum extremely useful on researching to apply for an FFL. I am in Florida, so I feel for you California guys who have to go through quite a bit.

We have submitted our FFL application to the ATF last Thursday, it was delivered Monday morning. It seems the check has already been deposited as of yesterday. What's the usual turnaround time for an agent to call us for the inspection?

Thanks! Do you recall when in that six week period they deposited your check? I thought it was awfully quick on depositing that!

I overnighted the application FedEx and my check cleared 4 days after receipt.

Mine took 90 days. About 60 days till I had my interview and 30 days after that.

Prints in AFIS speed that process up. I've been printed many times over before my FFL for security work and clearances.

Hmm, my business partner and I already have our prints in the system from government work. I still have an active clearance too.

Blast from the past but, we got our FFL01 yesterday on the 12th! That was right at less than 2 months. Thanks everyone for the info!

Now I need to get a bound book - what does everyone recommend?

If you are in a residential area make sure that you do not run afoul of local zoning ordinances.

That's the biggest hurdle for me at least.
