    Exemption code X13 on DROS?

What does the exemption code X13 on a DROS form mean?

X13 = FFL collector with COE

I believe that's the exemption code for either skipping the waiting period on C&R guns or skipping the 1 handgun per 30 days law

if it was C&R handgun, it'd be correct. I did a little more careful search.

C&R holders with a COE are exempt from the HSC requirements for C&R guns.

If you don't have a C&R, or a COE, or if it wasn't a C&R handgun, then the dealer screwed up

not sure. I don't think there's anything they can really do about it now.

It doesn't matter, you already went through the 10 days? Don't worry about it, nothing about it can be done now anyways.

The x13 is just for the handgun safety certiificate.. Nothing else. You do not need one or show how to operate the gun. It is good on all the guns you buy

The post above has some interesting syntax so let me try to make this more clear.

In order to buy a handgun, you have to have an Handgun Safety Certificate and perform the safe handling demonstration on pick up or you get an exemption code. If he simply put down the wrong thing, but still noted your HSC number and had you complete the handgun safety demonstration at pick up and you also signed the affidavit stating so, you are fine. If not, then the transaction was not completed properly. My guess is the dealer is responsible for that and most likely it will be the dealer take the hit. However, it might be possible the state could ask for the gun back until it is properly checked out.

It probably wouldn't hurt to let the gun dealer know if you think they did something wrong and just let them know you are concerned they might get pinched in an audit. You however, did nothing wrong.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

the dealer put "n/a" in the hsc number box. i did sign the safe handling demonstration affidavit though.

since it wasn't a c&r handgun, it sounds like the dealer made a mistake.

I know the thread is old. I used the search key.

Anyways. Same thing just happen to me. Instead of x86 he put x25 for exemption. If I notify FFL, do I have to re-DROS?

Brown 3 million. His opponent 2.1 million. Gun owners 8 million. Shouldn't his opponent have received 8 million and we have a pro gun governor??
