Who is San Diego County CLEO?

I am doing my application for C&R and on the form it wants the information for the CLEO, and from what I read I have to send them a copy of this application.

    So who gets it?

And for guys that have already done this paperwork, should I expect something back from them saying "approved" or "denied" prior to submitting to ATF?

    Thanks

County CLEO would be the sheriff.

City CLEO would be the chief.

Easy test: if you call 911 for a police emergency, what department shows up? That's your CLEO.

Never thought of the 911 option. However, in the area I live I never see the same type of Police car twice.

All the North county departments seem to like our little area!

I think it has something to do with the 3 chinese donut shops within a mile radius.

OK, are you in the city limits? Then it's your police chief. If not, then it's the sheriff.

The sheriff will always outrank the police chief. They run the jail. The police chief drops the bad guys off at the sheriff's jail.

I am in Fallbrook, we dont have any local police departments. I suppose it will be the Sheriffs dept.

          Thanks
