    PPT handgun question

If I bought a new handgun and picked it up on 9-09-09 when can I start a dros on a PPT handgun transfer? Does the 30 day limit start when you start the dros or pick up?

    Thanks

    Now. PPTs are exempt.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

That's why FFLs have to watch for straw purchases.

Yes, as an FFL, I have to be aware of straw purchaes, but what does that have to do with PPTs being exempt from the gun-a-month law?

The PPT can allow for more transfers since it is not limited, but it is quite true that in anycase you need to be aware of strawman purchases. One major problem is that the CA DOJ and the BATF don't seem to want to do anything about strawman purchases. I had one attempted and no one wanted to do anything about it.
