Looking for a FFL in SFV

I'm looking to purchase a handgun from an out of state vendor. I called a few shops and so far $70 is the lowest transfer fee, and that's including DROS. Any FFL out there that has it lower than $70 (including DROS)?

    TIA
A good way to threaten somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone. "Hear that?" you say. "That's dynamite, baby."

This is a pretty good list...

hopefully you can find someone on there, but frankly, for out of state transfers, I would expect to pay $60-$70. Sad but true.

You say "gun nut" like it's a bad thing

You may find that out of state vendors are leary or downright hostile about the idea of dealing with Calif.
don't take it personally, lot's of times you're better off just finding another one than talking a balky one into it.
Remember to stress that it's coming in to an FFL and he is the one responsible and liable for compliance with California laws, this is what they're mostly afraid of.

        Good Luck

Why not go to your local shop and see what kind of deals they can get for you. Figure in a $70 transfer fee and shipping that puts you around $100. I fI could order it for you and have it in my shop in two days, how much is your time and energy worth searching all over for the gun out of state, a dealer out of state that will work with CA, finding a dealer in state that doesn't charge more than $50 for the transfer, and then going down to see if the gun is the right one you ordered?

Now if the local guys can't find one, then that is why.

$70 including DROS doesn't sound bad to me, can you tell me who that was? Everyone I've tried up here in the valley wants at least $85. Seems like you have to trek to Riverside or OC to get a decent rate.

I totally agree with you but none of the shops I've called have not had any luck locating one. I'm always looking for a deal locally. Have to support the local businesses

$70 including the DROS is about as cheap as you're going to find it anywhere in LA county. Some guys in OC and SD know FFLS whom work out of their homes or have smaller shops that will do it cheaper, but they're few and far between, and you'd spend as much in gas to get there and back after your 10 days is up.

It would be nice if some of the California dealers would 'deal' as much as out of state ones, but with such high costs of doing business here, basically everyone sells at retail or very close to it. Not much discounting going on these days.

Which is why I'm getting a Nevada DL, FTF transfer and the State doesn't rob you.
