So today atf came and approved me for my ffl. Now waiting for my interview with placer county. So my question is what do i do with the doj i can?t get a response or live person on phone. I read online that i need a local firearms liscence too? Wth is that thanks

How did ATF ?approve? you for an FFL when you haven?t gotten your local permit or business license?

Getting approved is showing them you can obtain one before they issue the FFL. DOJ certainly won?t issue you a CFD without one.

You need to contact your local Law Enforcement agency and get a permit from them that allows you can sell firearms within their jurisdiction. You'll need your FFL license before the permit (license) is issued and that agency will want copies of all the necessary permits.
ATF doesn't "approve" you they merely inspect your business premises to see that it meets their requirements.

Ya ffl comes before permit atleast in placer. Kinda dumb. Ok thanks

Ya, kind of a chicken or the egg thing.

ATF was definitely the first requirement in my County. County would not issue a business license without the FFL. If I failed to get the business license ATF would have revoked the FFL.

Make sure it says "For the Retail Sale of Firearms". DOJ is very picky about this.

In fact I rcvd a letter from CA DOJ citing the penal code - The Penal Code requires that it state ?Valid for Retail Sales of Firearms? . My business license had ?the? and was told to correct it by next biz license renewal.

Fed/State/Local approval. A perfect example of a committee generated equilateral triangle where none of the legs meet. Kinda like the OSHA designed horse.
You cant get one without the other two. I my case the feds did a tentative approval, which kicked out the jams of the other two. Eventually it all came together, while looking quite impossible at the beginning.
Just keep submitting until they put it all together.

Update finally got everything and submitted too cal doj with there fee. Any idea how long they take? County took longest to get done
