Intra familial from within the same state or interstate?

BTW, when I Dros?d an AK47 from rifle dynamics earlier this year, a regular transaction-one in thirty day sale, my father had shipped an off roster intra familial interstate transfer.. because my father?s gift had never been used, it was considered ?new? and the gift from my father was rejected and I had to wait?.what sucked is that he passed away in that time, but I still had his letter of intent, a letter of intent from my mother.. and I waited until a death certificate arrived, then decided to perform the DROS? I waited months later, because the loss of my father was more important than starting paperwork on another firearm.

Since the gift was considered new, I believe the one in thirty rule applied, even though it was owned by my father, because he never shot it.

      AFAIK...

Before 01-01-2024, operation of law and intra-familial transfers were exempt.

Starting 01-01-2024, the exemption for operation of law and intra-familial transfers were removed.

Starting 01-01-2025, only operation of law and intra-familial transfers that meet certain requirements are exempt.
