NEW CA LAWS - Posted in CA Handguns forum too

Interest in the professional side and opinion? My friend and FFL (of 12 years) has been talking this up for a month.

Not one peep re this new Gov Gooseum BS on the forum? He signed it all...

JAN 2024 - FFLs required to:
    >Have 24/7 video surveillance of entrance, inside and every transaction on continual loop for the DOJ to view
    >Have to save every single piece of paper for every single gun and ammo transaction for 7 years
    >Have a counter so all guns and ammo are kept away from the masses
    >Have to keep every single transaction, record, document, sticky note, etc. of every transaction including ammo purchase
    >CA DROS fee will be increased
    >FFLs will increase every fee to support this new BS
    >2028 every single gun sold; PPT included must be "Mirco Stamped."

...What about NRA (worthless organization in CA and possibly in general) CRPA, etc. fighting this new nonsense? Everybody else have their head in the sand (or their azz)?

...If you are a Home Based FFL you probably will not renew and go out of business. Great job Libbie's restrict access to law abiding folks. Get rid of working thriving business and industry to protect the children. Criminals will always be able to get Guns and Ammo. Our fearless leaders forget they are criminals and don't ever follow the BS laws.

    I miss Scottsdale.

You really need to be doing more research and in depth reading. CRPA has initiated suits on virtually (if not all) pieces of legislature that has come out of Sac. regarding firearm legislation. If you were a member of CRPA you'd know that because there are continuing articles regarding the progress of said suits.

There has been constant discussion on the forums regarding the new laws.

Maybe you could cite the P.C. sections that you're referencing?

We're all well aware of the video recording requirements you are referencing.

So, now it is ironic that the State whittles away at the right of its citizens to defend themselves from the possible oppression of their State.

& the search function here is not the best
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
      (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

        Thank you

I only asked as my FFL friend had shared (really more of a rant) re the new requirements. They are home based FFL and always have been. The new stuff puts even more burden on them. They are considering leaving the business as challenges and costs to their side become even more.

Yes you are correct my bad for not being as up to date as can be. Do have "a "few things" other guns going on. So i'm less read and aware.

Will revisit the CRPA. Not so much a NRA fan anymore.

        Appreciate your reply and info.

Call it paranoia, but it sure feels like the state is going after home based with these new laws. I assume most/all brick and mortar have always carried liability insurance and have video surveillance systems. Maybe not 24/7/365 systems, but at least a start of one.

Paranoia is the unreasoned belief that people/person is out to get you or do you harm.
Look around you, specifically at the gun laws that are being passed daily.
It may come as a shock, but the State of California is not 'going after' home based FFL.
They are going after EVERY FFL and GUN in the state. If they could, the State would not only close down every FFL at every level but make every gun illegal, and would confiscate every gun, regardless of make, model, caliber or historical significance.
The California Legislature and Governor are about as anti-gun as you will ever find - they will continue with this assault on your Rights every chance they get.
So yes, your feelings are correct.

We are all well aware of the stance the liberal legislature holds within Calif. government. You're preaching to the choir...

Be that as it may, there may be some new parishioners that need to hear the word.

I'm not trying to be argumentative and in fact I agree with 95% of what you said. However, I think CA knows that constitutionally they can never shut down every FFL, as much as they might like to. Rather, I think they are targeting small FFLs for a couple of reasons. First, they only have so many staff. If they can thin the herd they can apply more attention and more pressure on those remaining FFLs. Second, they want to make it difficult and expensive to buy firearms so fewer people will do it.

Whether big, small, home based, or whatever, these regs will reduce competition and will increase the cost of doing business for every FFL. That will mean higher prices and increased difficultly in finding a dealer.

Now where did I set my tin foil hat...

Do you mean the State DROS fee? Supposedly it can only cover DOJ's cost to administer the program.

Like with all other liberal-based policies, the end result is that small and mid-level businesses close and the only thing that is left is the large, corporate entities. This new law is along those same exact lines.

And that is probably the liberal engineered agenda - eliminate the vast numbers of those who do not have the resources to fight the liberal machine and keep the businesses with the the deep pockets that liberals can extort from.
