    Alternate shipping address for 03FFL

I am applying for an 03FFL COE listing my home address. I use my office address for most shipping to avoid the neighborhood porch pirates.

Do I need to list the office address as a location on my application?

    Alternate shipping address for 03FFL

You could put your home as business address and office as mailing address, but I don?t know if ammo vendors will ship to your mailing address. Your business address should be where your firearms are stored.

Other type FFLs need a separate license for every premises address, but they are allowed to receive firearms at either business or mailing addresses.

Just a fine point. 03 FFL'S are not "in business"..

Using terms like "business" infers that a collector is engaging inactivity contrary to what a 03 collector is allowed to do.

      The correct terminology is

"Licensed located" " or "licensed premises."

The ATF form used for all FFL types uses the term Business/Activity Address and not licensed premises. But I agree that FFL03 are not in business.

I should clarify my office is my insurance agency.

It was not clear if I was required to ship to the address on my application?

May firearms be shipped to a licensee at an address different from the business premises address identified on the license?

Yes. Neither the GCA nor its implementing regulations require firearms be shipped only to the licensed business premises. Therefore, a licensee may lawfully receive firearms at the licensee’s mailing address, storage location, or other address where the licensee intends to ensure safe and secure receipt of the firearms.

Accurate, but OP should be aware that some sellers will not agree to ship to any address except what is printed on the 03FFL license. Even if they can, they won't, to protect themselves from thieves/scammers using someone else's license. Same as online stores that won't ship to address except the billing address of the credit card used.

                  What he said...

I would never ship a firearm to any address except the one on the license. Mostly a moot point in CA since we can't ship firearms direct to a C&R holder but seems like an ammo vendor would have similar concerns.

I have occasionally seen 01 FFLs that have a separate mailing address and premises address on their FFL, but I've always assumed mail goes to the mailing address and packages to the premises.

Our premise location and mailing address are listed on our license so either one can be used. Sometimes it takes a nudge or two for places to ship to our mailing address, but most do it.

That makes sense. I'd ship to either address as long as it was on the FFL.
