    Transporting across state lines.

I have my FFL so I can gunsmith.

I sometimes pick up and drop off firearms for cleaning and other minor work. If I keep them overnight I log them in my A&D book like I?m supposed to.

I live in California. I have a friend in Washington I?m going to visit. So if he hands me a couple of firearms, can I bring them home with me in my car? Log them into my book and whenever later return them?

I believe it?s legit but crossing state lines is a caveat I?m not sure if nor can find an answer anywhere.

    Thanks

If a customer "leaves" a firearm with you for any amount of time it needs to be logged in and out of your A&D book.

Because you are a FFL it is legal under Federal laws for you to do that. [18 USC 922(a)(1)(A)]

The firearms need to be logged in/out of your A&D log book.
