    Buying guns on consignment

Is the buyer required to pay tax on a gun that he is buying on consignment? is there a fixed fee for consigment purchases like the $35 ppt fixed fee? please advise. thanks

If the firearm is being sold for someone ("on consignment") by the dealer, then yes the dealer is required to collect sales tax.

If the dealer is involved with finding a buyer and/or involved with the price that it is sold for, then it is a taxable purchase.

      See:

There is no fixed fee unless the dealer submits the DROS as a PPT, which would be done if the firearm was not on the certified list.
