I t5hink I would be prone to getting them back and selling/consigning them once I was settled in another state. Just a thought...

Do you need to? I don't think you need to. I know Lock Stock and Barrel down in Simi Valley does consignments from all over the country. You should definitely talk to the shop that has them on consignment though.

"Should you" is a different question and Tyke may be right. What will the shop charge you for getting them back? Are they comfortable keeping them on consignment if you are no longer a CA resident? Will you make more on a sale in CA or KS?

One other important consideration is if they are off roster handguns. Once you move out of state they can no longer be sold in CA. Off Roster can only be sold via PPT and once you are no longer a CA resident, you can't do a PPT. Owning CA property isn't enough, you have to be a resident.

          Hope this helps.

and, BTW, Calif. doesn't recognize dual residency...as I understand it.

Take them with you. If you get residency there you will have to have shipped to
FFL there and do 4473. Paying for shipping to them as well. Maybe have to pay tax. Check with your FFL here to see your options.
