The firearm must be CA legal and cannot include any large capacity magazines.

        1. The CA daughter (your girlfriend) must find a CA FFL dealer that knows about and willing to conduct an out-of-state intra-familial gift transfer.
        2. The AZ father (your girlfriend's father) then ships the CA legal firearm with a copy of his valid AZ DL/ID and a gift letter to that CA FFL dealer.
        3. That CA FFL dealer then transfers (4473, DROS, 10 day wait) the firearm to the CA daughter.

From 1977-1996, SIG made the P230 in .380ACP.
It was discontinued in 1996 and replaced by the P232, which was discontinued in 2015.

By that you meant not an assault weapon or otherwise illegal? You didn't mean it had to be on the roster, right?

An intrafamilial transfer is exempt from the Roster.

'on Roster' and 'legal in California' are different concepts.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

OP, the "intent" of your question -- is yes. Any local FFL to your girlfriend could easily help here; each may have different fee structures

That was why I posed the question. I generally tell people who want to buy an off roaster handgun that the firearm is not legal in CA. That isn't really true, and maybe its lazy on my part.

I wasn't sure the distinction between "off roster" and "illegal" was apparent to everyone.

Watch out for hi cap mags. Need to send CA-legal mags, have them blocked in AZ, or find an FFL with a hi cap permit who will block them for you.
