    CFARS down for days now?

I have been trying to log into http://cfars.doj.ca.gov/ for about a week and get a 404 error. Tried multiple browsers, different computers, my phone etc.
I am assuming everyone else is having the same issue.

            Try https://cfars.doj.ca.gov/

If you are using the exact url you posted, it's using http (instead of https) and the DOJ site does not have a redirect to take you to https.

Your 404 error code indicates the url is not correct.

I just clicked on the OP's link with just the http, and it did redirect to take me to the https (https://cfars.doj.ca.gov). I was using Firefox (do not know if this makes any difference).

Some browsers will force https automatically especially if there is no response on http

I have used a few checks against http://cfars.doj.ca.gov/login and there is nothing there (no redirect, no listener at all). My guess is that OP did not get a 404 error, he got a timeout

For closure, if you are using Firefox, then it will automatically redirect to https via browser.fixup.fallback-to-https in about:config (this is set to true by default), so the link will work in Firefox.
