    Updated 4473 coming?

Is there truth to this and are FFLs in agreement with this guy's opinion with the reasons for revisions? Or is this guy making a big deal out of nothing?

The revised 4473 form is scheduled to be readily available on 02-01-2023 and will become mandatory to use on 04-01-2023.

The revision was required due to the US Congress passing legislation (Bipartisan Safer Communities Act) and POTUS signing it into law. [Public Law 117-159]

      EDIT:
Appears some FFLs are already using them.

Dude, if you were really serious about 2A rights you would understand that the 4473/FFL requirement is not on the menu in the first place. Not what the FF intended. Instead you're bitching about more questions on a form that in itself violates the 2A.

They are including the "ammunition" and "city limits" wording in the new form are very sneaky and clever.

From what I understand, the new laws will require a FFL to put a serial number on self made firearms that they transfer. Does anyone know if this will require an 07 license or will a 01 licensee be able to do it? What if the self made firearm already has complying markings with the builder's name, city, state, model designation and a serial number?

You will need an 07 to manufacture.
You need to know the difference from "manufacturing" and "gunsmithing".
It can be complicated knowing what can and what can't be done when it comes to either to conform to the law.

What a poorly written question. I'm not an expert on my city/county lines. What city limits? The "city" I live in is not incorporated, so there are no city limits. I live in Unincorporated Los Angeles County, but my address is a city name. So do I say "yes" if I live in the city (but its not actually a city?) So I guess it is just safe to answer "unknown." I don't understand what they are trying to learn by this question. Are they asking if you physically live at the address you put on the 4473? Or are they asking if you are covered/served by a city LEO?

Question 10 is revised: The transferee/buyer is now asked to answer whether they “Reside in City Limits?” regarding their residence address. For example, if a transferee lists their residence city/state as Phoenix, Arizona but they actually reside outside of the city, they will answer “no” to this item.

Thanks for your reply. BATFE site makes it clear that firearm would have to be remarked. End result, all transfers need to be done in a Walmart parking lot!
