Reed's gets burglarized....again?

Last incident was 2013. This time the perps got caught in the act, but unsure if they were actually caught.

If you can't chase someone at 4AM who just burg'ed a gun shop, you can't chase anyone - and the crooks know it.

I worked at a gun shop in the late 70's in Campbell, CA. We got broke into one night, smashed a front window and ran in and grabbed two rifles and a Radom, and the cops sat in the strip mall parking lot until the owner arrived and sent him in first. He lived a half hour away.

Heard the perps were only in the store 2 minutes. Lucky the cop just happened to drive through the parking lot.

In those days, things were different.

Guy escapes from jail, 4 pictures of him are circulated to local agencies. Sheriff reports back "cornered suspects, all 4 shot dead resisting arrest".


Seriously, coppers should have checked the premises for bad guys while waiting on the owner to show up.
They get paid to catch bad guys. Go catch em.

Because they called me at home at 2 AM to come down and watch the store until they got off their day jobs they boarded up the window. By the time I got there, approx 2:15, the cops were long gone and the owners told me the story. I am still friends with them.
Cops might have peeked in, but not a lot. In all fairness, the probability of the robbers still being in the small store was remote. All in all, they didn't put lot of time in on the call.
Crooks bagged an AR SP-1 and an M1A and also the Radom. M1A was recovered about a year and a half later, none the worse for wear and was sold.
