Separating Uppers from Lowers to ship into CA

Is this still a thing? Someone wants me to separate an upper from a lower to ship what CA would consider an AW from AZ to CA.

Is this still legal (I left CA in 2018)? I told them I'd have to verify this with their FFL first.

Doable but it is completely up to the receiving FFL
