    EGxxxxxxx The EG was stamped to replace the crillic letters. The ATF frowns on this nowdays, but that what some importers did decades ago.

      You sure there isn't an importers serial number listed someplace else on the firearm? Sometimes they use the OG one and other times I've seen them use their own that they engrave on the gun.

          What do you suggest we do going forward with these odd type guns. If I recall this nambu was a WW2 bring back trophy gun and was never imported by an FFL.
