    FSC Reprint Fee

So on the DOJ FAQ it says that it is $5 to reprint a FSC. And the DOJ charges us $5 to reprint the file on our printer with our ink and paper. What do you charge the customer for the reprint? Just the $5 or more to cover your costs and time? Just curious.

Save the PDF file when the FSC is issued and email it to the customer...they can (re)print their own and bring it to you for a signature? Maybe its no longer a pdf file?

i scanned my sheet when i got home if i laser printed it out again it would look identical the guy signed with black ink

i guess i could use my nintendo ds stylus to impress the signature lines to make it look like a signature

hmm would that be forgery ? cause i wouldnt actually be adding any ink

All the fsc I issued were saved on my server and I signed them using the computer. That way I could just email them to people. No way I am giving ca extra cash for nothing.

We also save local copies. I thought it was BS to require $5 to reprint. If they changed their name and wanted a new card to match new name/ID I'd have to charge them since that requires the DOJ system to update and I'm forced to pay DOJ $5.

Could be 2 reasons at that place:
                1) they don't save copies
                2) they have a revolving door of FSC instructors or too many and can't guarantee the person that issued yours would be there to even re-print for the $5 DOJ fee.

We save all of them to a local drive, that way if needed we can reprint them for the customer. I don't want to give the DOJ anymore money than I have too.

We tell everyone that only the person who issued it can reprint it for $5.00 fee. If theyre gone, fired, off work, dead whatever then theyll have to take the test again and $25 fee.

When I got mine at Sportsman's they gave me two copies. One to carry and one I was told to put in my gun safe. I was told they would have to charge me if I lost both. Can't remember how much that was though.

i should make a scan of mine as a backup copy to carry and leave the actual one at home.

When I worked at a gunshop we saved a copy of everyone’s FSC in a folder on our laptop that we used for submitting DROS. . If someone lost it, and came in we could just reprint a copy of it for no charge. If we couldn’t find it, we went on the DOJ website to look it up and reprint it for $5.
