    PPT Storage Fee

    Hello,

I was the buyer of a PPT at The Shootist in Murietta, CA. At the time of the DROS, they charged a $10 storage fee. I contacted them over a week ago and they have not replied.

    Is this legal?

$10 on top of the 47.19?

Not legal. But little recourse. You can dispute the charge after pickup.
Some charge storage fees after 30-days though.

I doubt that’s the case though.

Was there a contract? We have one which details all the fees. We only charge if someone misses their pickup date.

No, no contract. And they charged it at the time of DROS, not at pickup.

Further they didn’t even mention the fee to me. I haven’t purchased a gun in awhile so I just figured the price of the DROS increased. It wasn’t until after I picked up my rifle did I actually look at the receipt (I know I should have looked at the receipt sooner).

It appears they are continue to capitalize on the "rush". Many FFLs do their own thing during the "rush" like change ppt hours, not doing ppt at all, appointments, raise the ppt fees, and etc.

On the bright side, they only got you for $10. I have seen much worst.

Is is wrong? sure. So keep it in mind when you plan on giving them any kind of business next time.

PPT fees are 10$ on top of the DROS fees.

Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

I agree. I always buy something when doing a PPT to help out the store. Same with The Shootist - 4 boxes of ammo.
