Purchasing gun with expired "green card"

    Question for FFL's -

Have you encountered a customer wanting to purchase a gun, and the proof of legal status presented is an expired "green card" with an extension letter from USCIS? Where there any issues? denials from DOJ?

I'm in this situation. My 2-year permanent resident card has expired, but I have received a 24-month extension letter from USCIS while my 10-year card is approved and processed. The letter states that the expired card, plus the letter, serve as proof of legal status.

    Thanks.

I have and it did not cause a delay. I just made a copy of the letter and kept it with the paperwork.

Thank you for the response and info. My local FFL hadn't seen one and was unsure of how to proceed.

They did something similar with Global Entry, where they extended by 12 months via email while they were backlogged due to pandemic working-from-home.
