nothing bad will happen. It is not a crime or anything serious to attempt to buy more than 1 in 30. It is just illegal for the dealer to process the sale. So you now have to wait 30 days from the last attempt of purchasing, not 30 days from the first purchase. The law is 1 attempt to purchase(aka DROS submission) every 30 days that contains a handgun or semi auto rifle.Comment

Ask the FFL for the rejection letter, save it as a reminder of tyranny.

Just happened to me in February. Basically you get put in the penalty box for 30 days (from date of the "oopsie") then you are good to go. My mistake was I forgot Feb was a short month. Literally missed it by a day.

Actually, it is.
The crime, a violation of PC27535
27535.
(a) A person shall not make an application to purchase more than one handgun or semiautomatic centerfire rifle within any 30-day period. This subdivision does not authorize a person to make an application to purchase both a handgun and semiautomatic centerfire rifle within the same 30-day period.
The penalties, found in PC27590
https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/f...ctionNum=27590.
27590
(e) (1) A first violation of Section 27535 is an infraction punishable by a fine of fifty dollars ($50).
(2) A second violation of Section 27535 is an infraction punishable by a fine of one hundred dollars ($100).
(3) A third or subsequent violation of Section 27535 is a misdemeanor.
(4) (A) Until July 1, 2021, for purposes of this subdivision, each application to purchase a handgun in violation of Section 27535 is a separate offense.
(B) Commencing July 1, 2021, for purposes of this subdivision, each application to purchase a handgun or semiautomatic centerfire rifle in violation of Section 27535 is a separate offense.
So don't make a habit of it

"1 in 30" sounds like it needs to go to the 9th under the new Bruen scrutiny and then we won't have to put up with the tyrannical bull**** any longer. "1 in 30" is a joke. I am exempt with my FFL03 + COE and that's a joke. Its just differing flavors of tyranny, depending on how many hoops you want to jump through to become a tiny bit less persecuted.
It is 100% an infringement on all of our rights and it won't stand, we just need someone with the time and money to take to court now.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

Yep, just examples of CA firearm laws that are headed for the trash can. In fact, the OP should demand that CA DOJ rescind the denial under NYSRPA v. Bruen. If they do, great for the OP. If they do not, we have a case!"1 in 30" sounds like it needs to go to the 9th under the new Bruen scrutiny and then we won't have to put up with the tyrannical bull**** any longer. There is quite a bit of disagreement on this forum about when the 30 day clock starts. I asked my DOJ rep and she said its based on the date of the firearm that was successfully delivered, not the failed second attempt. I ran it based on the first and it went through. Others have said I was lucky, but I have it in writing (email) from DOJ that its based on the first one.
In any case the safest bet is to wait 30 days after the failed attempt and I advise my customers to do it that way. But I will run it based on the last successful DROS if they are willing to accept the risk.
I've only done one this way so I can't say with certainty which is correct.Comment
