    Copy of approved DROS

I just picked up a handgun that I got thru a PPT. I usually ask for a copy of the approved DROS. Of course I didn't look at the paperwork until I got home.

The copies that I have gotten before either thru a dealer sale, or a PPT, has my info in the upper half and FFL info in the lower half.

This copy had my personal info in the upper half.

But the lower half had the info of the seller instead of the info for transferring FFL who did the paperwork.

Did the DROS paperwork change? Or was I given a different version?

You were given the dealer copy (or a copy of it). They probably goofed.

    Nothing to be alarmed about.

Take it back and request the “approved” DROS sheet on pickup.

PPT has 3 different versions of the DROS.
      1. Copy with the buyers, sellers, and gun information on it. This would have been the copy that you signed and the FFL keeps for their records
      2. Seller copy, has the sellers and gun info on it
      3. Buyers copy, has the buyers and gun info on it. This is the copy they should have printed and given to you.

You are not supposed to get seller copy.

I got copy of version #1.

It's been a while since I bought a firearm thru PPT, so I didn't think anything of it until I looked over the paperwork when I got home.

Is it worth contacting the dealer to get a copy of the correct DROS?

          Or just do nothing?
