    EZ 4473 program

Has anyone used the EZ 4473 electronic bound book program. Or something similar. How did it go? Any recommendations? And do you keep a paperbook as a backup?

I haven't used it for real, but I loaded it and played with it. Seems pretty cool, and it's bound to help eliminate errors.

Acusport has a program that integrates your POS, boundbook and an electronic 4473. Supposedly it updates disposition records in your bound book automatically when you asign a gun to the 4473. I just received a trial version; if I get a chance to play with it this weekend I'll let you know what I think.

The e4473 is not a bound book, it is just an entry means for the 4473.

I have tried it and another local FFL has tried and and both of us have decided that it is far easier to use the paper forms. While it does check for certain conditions, it is awkward to use.

I personally use a paper copy. I have worked with computers for far too long to trust them. I know that others use electronic versions and like it, in part because you can search the records. You do need to get BATF approval and there are certain requirements, such as I believe printing out the pages.

Sorry for the confusion. EZ 4473 is different than e 4473. The ez 4473 program is offered by a private company to correlate your bound book with your 4473's.

I can say that paper copies are much better than digital copies. I'd also suggest a large backup drive for anyone considering switching over to electronic. Imagine the headache of your work computer crashing with all of your records on it.
