C&R firearms - transferable to any legal purchaser

    Sorry new dealer here

is any firearm including "off roster" pistols that are considered C&R transferable to any purchaser that can pass the background? Or are there some sort of CA restrictions to C&R firearms and transfers to unlicensed persons?

If the firearm is over 50 years old it can be transferred to any purchaser in CA * so long as its not an AW.

BTW. Since you're new, theres a lot of confusing stuff when it comes to selling firearms in CA. Best to ask questions so don't feel bad about that, we've all been there before. I've been selling guns for about 14 years now in CA and I had to learn and ask, and to be honest I still get stumped sometimes. So ask away.

C&R's can also be found on the BATF C&R List that may not be over 50 years old.

Ditto Aces comment. I've learned a lot from other forum members.

Another consideration with C&Rs is that they can be 10 day wait exempt, and 1 in 30 exempt if the buyer is a C&R license holder with a COE.

Also check the stickies, but be warned that many links are out of date.
