    Shipping to California - Help

I have recently purchased a Glock gen 3 out of state (got a great deal) from an FFL in SC. I have an FFL in Los Angeles ready to receive the 26 (Both FFLs have been in contact on the order as well), and all the paperwork is ready to ship via USPS.

The issue is my FFL has told me that he's unable to get anyone on hold with the Bureau of Firearms in CA, Phone: (916) 210-2300 (https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/contact).

He told me that all the paperwork is ready, just waiting for the green light to approve the shipment of the 26. He was on hold for an hour+, and no one answered.

He also sent a message on the site but no one responded back to him.

Does anyone have feedback on contact info that is better than what he has to ship the 26 into CA?

He is probably having issues getting a CFLC. This is an online process but if he is locked out or having some other issues yes the CADOJ takes about an hour to pick up your call.

Had to call today 1 hour 5 minutes
On Monday 1 hour 31 minutes

They need to do this before shipping in CA,

Is he trying to get the DOJ Pre-authorization number/letter?

I had an an issue with that a while back and as I recall DOJ was no longer doing the phone/fax approval thing. You have to create an account and request the letter through your account.

Does the seller have an account?

I don't know but will ask him. It's insane that you have to go through all this to ship it.

The site does have the email, firearms.bureau@doj.ca.gov

Has anyone got a response from them on that?
They also have their fax number on there.

That is the link I send to the seller out of the state or to the FFL receiving the order in Los Angeles?

Do all the efforts by all the parties really make this a good deal?

Also make sure the Glock is made in Austria not made in GA, USA. It has nothing to do with the approval but could become a big problem after the gun arrives.

Thanks for that notice. It is Austria-made. Is there a huge difference between the Austria and USA made that would create a "big problem" for the USA made?

If you search all Glocks on the roster, you get the following warning with the list of 56

No Generation 4 or Generation 5 Glock handguns have been approved as of: Wednesday, March 9, 2022

No Glock handguns made in the USA have been approved as of: Wednesday, March 9, 2022

Thanks, it's CA Approved (GLOCK 26 Gen 3). Hopefully enrolling in CFLC was the missing link to send it.

Awful lot of trouble for a Glock 26. Just my 2 cents nobody asked for.

I would just pay the premium and not deal with out of state transfer. How much are you really actually saving?
