Yes if the FFL will accept walk in dealer transfers from out of state non-licensees. It is legal, some FFLs may not deal with it though.

Of course they can charge whatever fee they want for this, so expect to pay their normal transfer fee.

You mean the normal fee to receive from out of state via USPS, FEDEX, UPS? PAX

Whatever fee they usually charge over cost-of-gun and DROS. Seems to be $75-100 these days.

That's distinct from the legally limited Private Party Transfer fee of $10, not available on interstate transfers.

Virtually no advantage to do in person versus shipping. PAX

Buyer saves the shipping cost if seller delivers to ffl. Otherwise no benefit to seller to do that.

I was thinking about the receiving fee$ mostly. It's expensive for a cheap rifle and really kills some deals. Thought it might be handled like a PPT since the seller would be there in person.
I guess my old go to FFL ruined me. He would charge $25 bucks for one 4473 to receive up to 5 weapons, and he'd wait until I had 5 if I told him I had others coming from different sources (that's how you end up with 40 SKSs). He'd been my guy for 15 years but said the regs were getting too complex for him to keep up with and let his license lapse in'19 PAX
