The 30 days start when the DROS is submitted to Department of Justice.

    Under Penal Code section 27535:
A person shall not make an application to purchase more than one handgun or semiautomatic centerfire rifle within any 30-day period. This subdivision does not authorize a person to make an application to purchase both a handgun and semiautomatic centerfire rifle within the same 30-day period.

Submitting a DROS is considered making an application to purchase a firearm.

A dealer could let you put money down on a handgun in the 30 days after December 21, 2021, but you cannot start a DROS on a handgun in that 30-day period without it being rejected.

        Actually, it is 740 hours.
I have been bitten by the daylight savings time shift for both the 10 and 30 day periods

The 1 in 30 comes down to calendar days, therefore if you were to purchase a firearm on the 1st of the month you wouldn't be eligible for another purchase until the 31st.

Looks like im good to Dros my next handgun than. Latest pick up for my last Dros was Jan 20th. Does this rule apply to shotguns? Can I dros a shotgun from another store while my Dros is in process for the handgun?
