FFL cancelled DROS. Still received a 30 day rejection
Keep Fighting, California!!Tags: None -
The law restricts submitting more than one application to purchase - filing DROS - in 30 days.and16190.
As used in this part, “application to purchase” means either of the following:
(a) The initial completion of the register by the purchaser, transferee, or person being loaned a firearm, as required by Section 28210.
(b) The initial completion and transmission to the Department of Justice of the record of electronic or telephonic transfer by the dealer on the purchaser, transferee, or person being loaned a firearm, as required by Section 28215.Your 30 day clock started on the date and time of the submission, regardless of being cancelled.27535.
(a) A person shall not make an application to purchase more than one handgun or semiautomatic centerfire rifle within any 30-day period. This subdivision does not authorize a person to make an application to purchase both a handgun and semiautomatic centerfire rifle within the same 30-day period.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good! -
Huh. That makes sense, from a reasonable for the buyer standpoint.
Another example of 'as applied' being different, I guess.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

Not that they have not changed their minds
Its not a common thing but mistakes do happen and have gotten fixed. Mistakes in the customers information is not considered fixable in the DES. Minor corrections in the gun description are allowed but only once in the DES system.

In the last couple years they have changed their minds on when the 30 day clock starts. Previously a cancelled DROS was not counted but then all of the sudden the took the wording literally. Since technically a DROS was submitted and application was made even if it was not completed.Comment

I think only the firearm info can be fixed. Make a mistake with any party to the transaction and you have toasted it and need to start again.Last edited by ronlglock; 01-08-2022, 9:50 PM.Comment
