Looking For FFL to help with ATF 6 Form?

    Hello,
I'm looking for a FFL who can assist with an ATF 6 form so that I can bring back some inherited rifles from south of the border. I have spoken with ATF multiple times and they assured me this would be the best way of bringing my firearms back. The only thing is I can't seem to find any FFL's in my area that have experience with this.

    ATF 6 Form:

Anyone have experience with ATF 6 form? or a FFL that they can recommend?

    Thank you,
    Steve

IIRC you need a FFL and better yet, a FFL/registered importer to help you. You cannot do this yourself.

If you are not FFL, you can only use that form to apply to import certain parts and certain sporting ammo - not firearms.

See if there is some ATF work around for an inherited firearm.
If there isn't and you are required to use an importer it's an expensive drawn out process that ends up having an exporter in one country and importer here who can then send the gun to an FFL. (square 4 & 6 on the form). As you can see the system is geared toward large numbers of guns imported at once not the single gun. Depending on gun value it's probably not worth doing.
I wonder if the Mexican government would ship it (for a fee) to an embassy here where you could pick it up under the US inheritance laws. Ask them not our state dept.

          There is none.

Without BATFE approval for importation, US Customs will confiscate any firearm imported into the USA.

In addition, the firearm still needs to comply with all Federal importation requirements.
~ Handguns must have the minimum amount of points to be legal to import.
~ Semi-auto centerfire rifles and shotguns must not have restricted features.
