    Shipping to a Gunsmith

I have a customer who would like me to ship a handgun to a gunsmith for some work. He is aware he can do it but would prefer I handle it as a FFL.

I believe I log this in my gunsmithing A&D book and can then just return to him when its done (no serial number change involved) without a 4473/DROS. I know it works that way if I am doing the work, but not 100% positive if I'm not doing any of the smithing myself.

    Thanks

Actual gunsmith that does the work is required to return the gun to the address which it came from. If the FFL sends it in, it must be returned to the FFL.
