    DROS problem

Had a dealer do a PPT transfer of a handgun for me (buyer) a few days ago. I am a permanent resident and I put that info on the 4473 form. The dealer also asked to see my green card and took some info from it.

However, I just looked at the purchaser's copy of the DROS he gave me and it says "Yes" in the US Citizen check box.

I'm wondering if this is normal? Shouldn't it say "No" there?

I did not read the DROS before signing it, I know that was dumb of me. Is this going to cause a problem for me? If the dealer did screw up, how can this be corrected and who is liable for it?

Should I wait the 10 days to see if it fails, or should I ask the FFL to cancel it before then?

You sign a govt document with the wrong info on it, when you do a 1-in-30 exemption for a modern handgun and it is DROSd as C&R handgun - because DOJ directs the dealer to do it that way. It would be a hard argument for them to make that every drop down must be correct when they literally tell people to use incorrect info as workarounds.

When you DROS an AR receiver or a pistol grip (no buttstock) shotgun as a long gun, that isn't accurate either. But that is a required workaround on a DROS.

The buyer has no way to know what other screwy workarounds or subtleties any given DROS (which is completed entirely by a dealer) may have. The buyer provided his green card and filled out the 4473 correctly. My opinion is he should lose no sleep over this.

Presumably the dealer salesperson also signed the document and if lying was the charge, it would also fall equally on them because their signature makes the same testament to accuracy.

"I" would tell the FFL to redo and correct the mistake.
