    Centerfire Rifle and Barreled Receiver

I have a couple questions for y'all about this 1-in-30 thing.

1: Is there any sort of exemption for C&R semi-auto centerfire rifles?

2: Can a C&R semi-auto centerfire rifle and a barreled receiver be transferred at the same time on the same DROS, or does the 1-in-30 apply to this?

    Thanks for the help.

Semi-auto centerfire rifle is 1-30 regardless

Isn't a barreled receiver classified as "other" which technically we can't DROS? I think this is covered in the new Franklin Armory lawsuit against the State.

    I'm open for correction.

Well I hope that's not the case. That's going to cause some issues.

Which part? The semi auto part or barreled receiver?

You mentioned C&R. So FFL 03's are exempt from this. Non exemptions are not. The barreled receiver has always been a problem in CA since DROS does not allow you to select "other"

The barrelled receiver part is the issue now. I didn't know that was a problem. What's the proper way to do this? DROS it as a rifle?

            Is it a rifle? NO

            Is it a handgun? NO

So what do I do? Assemble it in the shop, DROS as a rifle? Remove the barrel and DROS as a receiver?

Evidently. Like is said, read the lawsuit against the state from Franklin armory and their title 1 project. This all relates that that.

edit: not that it relates to it but is seeking the legal resolution to the issue

I am aware of that and even get email updates from them about it every so often, but I guess I just didn't make the connection between the Title 1 and barreled receivers.

                    Why isn't a barreled receiver a receiver?
