Tried to do a PPT of a Henry Mare's Leg and two FFls declined to handle it. When I purchased this gun as a PPT about 3 years ago here in California it was dros'd as a pistol. On Henry's website, Mare's Legs are classified as lever action pistols. This should not fall under National Firearms Act as a short barreled rifle because it was never manufactured or sold as a rifle. It came from the factory as a pistol and has always been registered as a pistol. Is this interpretation of the law now common to all FFLs in California?

It is a pistol. Not a rifle. Don’t know why that’s hard to Google things. Some shops just don’t know things outside the box.ShootSoCal Firearms & Training.
