If you don't have one yet, you'll probably need a Second Hand Dealers Lic. as well.

You're probably correct. I don't do either so I'm not really up on that.

... and wait 30 days before selling it.

Taperxz is correct, you only need the SHD license if you want to consign. Also correct that you can't sell off roster unless its as a consignment.

Anybody have insight on how a consignment would effect a customer's ability to do PPTs? As a consignment is ran as a PPT once its sold, would this be considered 1 transaction or multiple. Ex: Customer consigns 7 firearms, we sell each one on different days, would this cause an issue with the DOJ, or not since they were all ran as a consignment on the same day? I've always wondered and never had anybody actually with this issue, but I did take in 52 consignment firearms last month, now these are not being sold in store and are going to all be auctioned on GB, so it would not apply to my question but it did get me thinking. Any insight with past experiences? Thanks, and thanks to the OP for the thread jack.

Dealer sold personal firearm. Is it taxable.

Well, there really more to it than the title suggests.

Dealer sells firearm to person in a distant CA city. The firearm is shipped to an FFL in that city. Buyer commences background process. FFL wants to charge TAX on the transition fees.
                    Is that legal???

                    I say no.

Pros, you can facilitate the PPT yourself, cons the state robs you of $37.19.

You can also acquire the firearm from him as a buy for dealer inventory and if it never sells.....well then....you can figure it out....

Will any of the 52 be California available and if so do you have a link? Thanks.
