FFL 03 and ammo

Hello all, and I apologize if this has already been discussed as I was not able to locate it?

I would like to purchase ammo outside of California, either via internet or simply when I travel to ship ammo home. I would prefer not to use an FFL as I live in the burbs and the nearest FFL is 1.5hrs round trip from home.

Question:

Do I need an FFL 03 and COE in order to do this?

I sent in my forms for the 03 and have started the COE but ran into a challenge with the forms.

Yes.
Not all out of state vendors will honor the exemption.

Now I remember why my COE was rejected...I failed to include a business type on the form? Since I wont be using a business name, am I using the wrong form, or is this a test

In order to get a COE (now), you have to place your 03FFL License number in the comments box OR explain why you need a COE to them.

Also, you have to include a copy of your drivers license as an attachment document.

I just went throught this. They rejected my COE renewal 3 times because of small items one at a time.

Add your FFL03 number and expiration date in your Profile too.
that way you don't have to go through it every year.
