    Private Party Transfers?

Does anyone in Contra Costa County know of a licensed dealer (FFL) who is doing private party transfers (PPT) in the County these days?

I normally do business with City Arms East in Pleasant Hill. I called them yesterday and they are not doing PPTs "at this time", and did not offer any explanation.

I have a rifle to sell which I have not listed yet here in CalGuns but I need to know that I can do a PPT somewhere within reasonable distance before I offer it for sale.

2nd Question: I'm out of date. Is there a waiting period after the sale of a long arm? This one has absolutely no offensive features. It is a Browning BAR in .243 with a four round removable magazine. Just a standard hunting rifle. How long must the buyer wait after the sale before taking possession?

As said above 10 day wait. You as the seller only need to be present for the sale, not pick up 10 days later.

i try to stop doing business with places that wont do PPT. As a buyer, i usually try to buy something when i do the PPT and its their loss.

I bet they are trying to keep safe space open for in store buyers.

I agree completely. And given the shortages of product, both firearms and ammo, you would think that dealers could use the occasional bits of revenue, although admittedly small.

The amount of places willing to do a PPT has dropped dramatically over COVID. I walked into two FFL's that were both not busy and got denied at both, I don't get it.
