Private party transfer

You are experiencing 'terminological overload' or 'name collision'.
A 'private party transfer' in CA is a special thing; most prominent for your needs, it requires the buyer and seller appear at the same CA FFL.
If you ship it, it is not a CA PPT. See the sticky - http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=725126
So, the fees will be up to the transferring FFL in NorCal, and you should ask there.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good! -
What you propose is not a PPT. You need to:
1. Find an FFL near you that will accept having the gun shipped to him so he can transfer it to you. He can charge anything he wants for this, expect $75-150 on top of the DROS fees.
2. Find out if he want the firearm shipped directly from the seller, or if he want the seller to take it to a So Cal. FFL, and pay them to ship it to your FFL. You pay the shipping and whatever the So Cal FFL wants.
3. When the gun arrives at your FFL, you go in, do the paperwork, pay the money, wait your 10 days.Comment
